PR and Media consultancy, MD MEDIA, was established
by former Irish Times journalist, Miriam Donohoe, in April 2010.
It has quickly established itself as one of the leading PR agencies in the South East with clients including the Crafts Council of Ireland, Showcase 2011, Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, Waterford Festival of Food, Trail Kilkenny, Indecon Economic consultants, The People Group Recruitment Company, Going for Growth, the South East Food Innovation Awards and Invest Kilkenny.
Miriam Donohoe – Owner and Senior Account Director
In her ten years in the Irish Times she held several senior positions including Political Reporter, Asia Correspondent, News Editor, Travel Editor and Features Editor.
In a 27-year career in journalism she also worked in the Irish Examiner where she was Deputy News Editor; in the Independent Group as a senior reporter, (including one year as a business reporter), and in the Sunday Tribune where she was Assistant Editor and News Editor.
Miriam is a graduate of the Certificate in Journalism Course from the College of Commerce in Rathmines, (1983), and holds a Diploma in Media & Newspaper Executive Development from the Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI), 2004 (www.simi.dk).
Neans McSweeney – Senior Account Manager
Neans is a former South East Correspondent and Education Correspondent with the Irish Examiner. She is an honours BA in European Studies graduate of the University of Limerick (1992), majoring in politics, economic and German. She graduated a year later from University College Galway with a Higher Diploma in Applied Communications (Hons).
A journalist with 14 years of experience, Neans joined the public relations firm Bance Nolan in Waterford in September 2007. She set up her own agency, McSweeney Media, in February 2009. She works solo on some projects and also in conjunction with MD Media and others.
Neans has worked with numerous clients and businesses in both the public and private sectors and is a fluent Irish speaker with a strong working knowledge of both French and German.
Siobhan Donohoe – PR & Marketing Executive
Siobhan has a B.Sc. Management & Marketing from Trinity and DIT. She has just completed the marketing modules from the MBA course with Carlow Institute of Technology.
She has undertaken various marketing projects over the last 15 years. After graduating she spent time working for a marketing & design company in London and dealt with clients such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures and Disney. She has spent some years as a business consultant & ran her own financial services company however in 2010 she grabbed the opportunity to return to marketing & PR full time with MD Media.
Siobhan has a cert in Training & Development from IITD and is our in house course co-ordinator for PR training programs. She organises Social Media campaigns for MD Media clients. Siobhan is also a member of MBA Association of Ireland & holds a QFA diploma and a cert in PR.
